I was going to make a sarky comment about the sort of people who drive pickups, but actually it looks like there's stuff in the back that might justify it.

Given the damage to the bumper and grille, the muzzle probably went through the cab back window too. Pretty scary for the occupant(s).

I think the damage to the front was where the muzzle hit before riding up into the screen. The flash eliminator is still partially in front of the screen so I don't think it's gone far enough through to hit the back. But yes, not a vehicle I'd like to have been in. Just hope there wasn't a central seat passanger!

Have you seen the pictures of the car that hit a moose, which went in the front screen & ended up sticking out the back?

I think I did see the moose pictures, yes. Entertaining as long as you weren't involved.

I think the marks on the bumper look like they hit the gun's wheels. Given the buckling on the wing as far back as the windscreen pillar, I'd guess that the crumple zone was probably invoked. But, as you say, a scary accident either way up.

I thought the muzzle had hit the top of the grill/front of the bonnet, causing the crumple then deflecting up into the windscreen. If the bimper had hit the wheels & expect rather more damage to the light cluster, and some broken glass. It looks like the surround has broken, dropping the sidelight out, due to the crumpling rather than due to a frontal impact. Also the front has been angled back rather than pushed straight back, which seems like a high impact.

Probably over-analysing here!
