I've tried a pink Bruchladdich before; it wasn't red wine cask finished, but rather port cask finished. Unfortunately, the Scotch Malt Whisky Society have run out of this one.

It was very good indeed.

Mmmmmmm... Sounds nice, certainly. The port finish Glenmorangie was a bit disappointing, I thought - rather bland. And not particularly pink.

The SMWS was a single cask, matured in a port pipe (not finished, as I implied before - sorry).

Glenmorangie just spent its last three months-or-so, iirc, in a port pipe. Hence, it only picks up the flavour. That said, the madeira wood finish is somewhat better.

I'll certainly be interested in trying the wine finish Bruchladdich. If for no other reason than it's an Islay...

Yes, I'd like to try it but I'm not sure I'd want a whole bottle. Have to ask the Auld Hoose to get a bottle!

Hmm...Auld Hoose in "pink whisky for ladies and gays" shocker. You know, that might well tempt me down there...briefly...
