Possibly but...

The 10 year ban on owning Assualt Rifles in the US is about to expire and has no hope of being introduced due to differences in Congress.

Just wonder if we will now see the Montana Militia parading with real AK47 again and not plastic ones.

God Bless the USA, God Bless the M16

Re: Possibly but...

I'm usually very tempted to pull a paintball gun and plaster vehicles I see that have Rifle Association bumper stickers... sadly, it's illegal to carry a loaded, charged paintball gun in a vehicle within reach of driver or passengers... o_O but it IS okay to have filled rifle-racks in the rear of your pickup's cab (down South, at least)...

(are you still interested in that mobile headset?)

Damn I completely forgot about that (hits PDA for being forgetful)

Yes and no...I now have a Nokia but the Samsung is in the hands of [livejournal.com profile] pisica.

I'll check with her and if she does want the headset we'll arrange a meet.

I guess if Congress is being useless about gun control then the best option is to hit the gun manufacturers and sellers in the wallet.

Re: Possibly but...

Thats one solution but you cannot sue the gun companies for making the tools.

If someone dies in a car accident people do not sue the car company, they look to the driver to be prosecuted for the death unless there was a clear design fault.

Guns are by nature tools, it is up to people to use them responsibly and as the Government is an extention of the people they should be controlling the use and distribution of firearms.

Quite why anyone wishes to own automatic weapons in their living room is beyond me. Limited ownership in gun club areas is acceptable.

The fact they allowed a gun ban to even run out without trying to engage some other form of legislation reeks of a little madness.

Especially in a culture that is currently promoting it's security as a prime election issue.

If you dont want Al Qaeda walking around getting hold of military munitions why make them legal.

Of course the gun lobby will say they wish to defend their homes with AK47's!!

I am sure a 20 gauge shotgun is just as good in civilian security.

No, but you can sue them for selling them to minors or to people who are mentally unstable.

According to some psychology studies it's because of a deep sense of personal, social and sexual inadequacy.

> If you dont want Al Qaeda walking around getting hold of military munitions why make them legal.

You would think that would occur to them, but I guess common sense has very little to do with this.
