Well, the Italian conceptual artist Piero Manzoni sold his shit - "100% pure artists shit" - on the tautological grounds that anything the artist does is art, so it could be worse.
Did raise a smile though, as did a piece with Tracey Emin in the Scotsman today about how people laughed at her works going up in flame.
