I read pretty regularly but my posting tends to be somewhat episodic.
It's an interesting idea but it'd only really work if there were lots of them about. I suppose what would be ideal is if incorporating wifi into everything caught on so that there was a continuously mutating overlapping network of repeater stations. Hmm, interesting idea anyway.

I'd love a WiFi bike. Or preferably a WiFi Sinclair C5.
But that said I'm always pissing about with wireless networks...
