Contrary to popular belief, the impact of the Millennium Bug was not limited to a few outdated video recorders. Evidence has recently come to light that at midnight on December 31st, 1999 a catastrophic system-wide crash swept through the core systems of Microsoft. In just over three minutes Microsoft's entire coding database, including Windows 1.0, was either deleted or corrupted beyond repair. Many observers believe that this is the reason why Windows xp actually works.
