Um, those foil tray things take aways use?

Frying pan

Sofa

6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof?
Gutter

7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening?
Cinema, theatre, restaurant, bar, pub, nightclub......

8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages?
Juice. Or Fizzy. Used to be Pop when I was younger.

9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup?
The only flat round breakfast food I can think of is slices of black pudding, which you don't serve with syrup. If fact, I don't think I could face syrup at breakfast - it needs a run up.

10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself?
No such animal. Anyone who says one sandwich can be a meal is lying.

11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach?
Trunks. And duffle coats, in Britain!

12. Shoes worn for sports?
Plimsolls at school. Now, depends on the sport.

13. Putting a room in order?
Oh god?

14. A flying insect that glows in the dark?
Firefly.

15. The little insect that curls up into a ball?
Woodlouse.

16. The children's playground equipment where one kid sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the other side and goes down?
See-saw.

17. How do you eat your pizza?
Fingers.

18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff?
Bankrupcy.

19. What's the evening meal?
Dinner. Tea is a mid-afternoon snack with sandwiches and cakes, a cooked meal is dinner. You may eat dinner at lunchtime too....

20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are?
Cellar.

21. Oblate ellipsoid of leaven bread, cut, in two, along its major plane and filled with delicatessen goods?
Sandwich.

22. Narrow passageway, usually covered, to the back of a terrace of houses?
Ginnel.

Fur.

Brewing.

Stewing. And that's when it's ready - just add lots of sugar. Preferably it should have been kept hot for a couple of hours, with the milk in too.

27. Pot with lid for oven, usually ceramic, for slwoly cooking meat or similar in juices, stock, with vegetables?
Casserole.

28. Can, usually for petrol or water, with handle and screw lid?
Jerrycan.

29. Animal based term of endearment for people?
Pet. Chuck is the one I grew up with, but I'm not sure if it's animal based. Duck as well.

30. Hearty cooked breakfast involving eggs, bacon, sausages, black pudding etc?
Yes please! Fry up.

31. Beast of burden, smaller than a horse, with long ears?
Donkey.

32. Place where people take coal out of the ground?
Mine.

Ladybird.

Oh I can make weak, anaemic tea for those who prefer it that way. I only drank tea when I was in the army, and only then because it tasted more like coffee than the army coffee did.

In point of fact my preference where available is for Lapsang Souchong, which is in effect smoked tea, and tastes more like bonfires than anything else. Although weak anaemic tea beats the pants off stew!

Depends if you've been up all night in freezing conditions playing soldiers. But Lapsang Souchong is one of the teas [livejournal.com profile] nickys drinks so I'm familiar with it. You'd have to ask her how well I make it but she certainly drinks it if I bring her one in bed in the morning.
