I didn't have anything to do at work this afternoon, and I've built up a good credit of flexi-time, so I came home. This is a good thing. After years of working for micro-managers and under restrictive conditions "so that everyone is treated the same" having a boss who trusts me to get the work done & doesn't worry about irrelevancies is very refreshing. It's quite strange feeling motivated at work. Civil servants are generally so ground down & demoralised these days, finding a tiny refuge is wonderful. I'm leaving now to spend more time with my family (well, talk to
nickys and have random children dash in & demand refreshments)
