Now this is seriously impressive. A bicycle race from Canada to Mexico along the East-West watershed (AKA the Rocky Mountains)
June 18 - ? (approx 3 weeks)
Distance - 2465 miles
Elevation Gain - >200,000 feet
Much of it off road, and entirely self supported - carry it or buy it in the (very occasional) bits of habitation you pass through. Makes the Tour de France look easy. Not that I could do either. The online diary is here.
The record for completing it is 18 days. That's an average of 137 very tough miles, including over 11000 feet of climbing each day. The most I've done is just over 60. Wow.
Just thought I'd share.
