Monsanto dumped toxic waste in UK - Anyone read Neal Stephenson's book Zodiac?

A menace to science - A nice critique of the "faux-scientist" peddling snake oil to the middle classes.

The Gillian McKeith article is just epic. Thanks a lot. I always thought she was basically OK, albeit with a weird obsession with poo, but now I reckon I was wrong.

I shouldn't remind you all about the Re-Chem plant at Bonnybridge then. No they tried to brush that one under the table for years as well. PCBs, Dioxin's = birth defects and majoy pollution. Not rocket science.

NZ is still having to deal with the continuted contamination of people/workers in a town next to a Dow chemical plant that produced Agent Orange in New Plymouth, NZ, for the Vietnam war. The US govt wanted the stuff manufactured, but not in its own backyard of course...so they got the NZ govt to actually subsidize its production in NZ (I guess for jobs). But they won't take responsibility for the contamination caused. Families are still suffering effects. Same old story. Poorly educated people don't tend to complain or put 2 and 2 together. Dow was happy to produce AO as far away in little old NZ as possible. Dumb NZ treated like .... anywhere they can get away with it.
