14 September 2000, a Komatsu D375A-2 pulled an abandoned tank from its archival tomb under the bottom of a lake near Johvi, Estonia. The Soviet-built T34/76A tank had been resting at the bottom of the lake for 56 years.

It's in amazing condition considering!

Bottoms of lakes tend to be very low-oxygen environments, things often don't rust much.

My first reaction was "yes, and it probably still runs" :-)

Little disappointed to see that the engine isn't in running order, but only slightly amused that the rest of it is.
