'twas actually a flashback to their "Think Different" campaign from a few years ago, which featured Rosa Parks (among other world-changers), and was offered as a tribute, with a link to some biographical information about her.
I can see how it could look that way - it was probably pulled from their existing imagery. (Also seems to have been pulled from the site, which is back to normal now.)
Nothing I've seen on this has made reference to an iPod in the image, and frankly this is so badly photoshopped that there's no way that Apple would have run this.
oops, posting in a hurry I didn't notice the Ipod added. I was just looking for the picture. It did have the apple logo though if I remember correctly.
